Due to continued growth, OFGEN is looking to recruit for the Solar Thermal and PV Divisions.
 
Solar Thermal Installer
 
Main Duties:
 
As a Solar Thermal Installer, you will play an important role in solar thermal projects from the technical planning stages to full operation, including:
  • Undertaking site surveys 
  • Interpretation of technical drawings, checking the site against plan. 
  • Measuring and planning before installation. 
  • Problem-solving in a timely and efficient manner. 
  • Maintain tools and an inventory of other material needed to complete the project. 
  • Installation - includes mounting of solar collectors and the installation of water heater and storage tank components, plumbing, piping, and controls and sensors with related wiring. 
  • Once operational, ensure that the customer (whether residential or commercial) understands any ongoing maintenance requirements and troubleshooting steps. 
  • You will tie that system into the overall heating and cooling systems of the building, providing a safe and efficient energy source.
  • Testing, commissioning, handover and maintenance of system.
Qualifications 
  • Proven hands-on (3 years +) experience in domestic plumbing and heating installations 
  • Degree/ HND/D in relevant field 
  • Basic electrical knowledge is also required. 
  • Recognised technical qualification 
  • Manufactures product training 
  • Energy Efficiency 
Competence 
  • Ability to take responsibility for delivering projects 
  • High standards of workmanship and professionalism 
  • Good communication skills 
  • Driving license
  • Able to work at heights and manage health and safety onsite
  • Knowledge of solar thermal systems.
  • Enthusiasm for renewable energies
