Agricultural Assistant Business Manager
Work station:Nairobi / Mombasa
Primary Responsibilities:
Taking accountability on all activities in the Agricultural Division
Key Account Management with a view to maintaining and generating additional revenues.
Analyze market opportunities for existing and new services, identify potential clients, develop client relationships and drive the market position.
Design and implement business strategy to develop business and ensure revenue and profitability with a long term successful performance.
Design and develop proposals to both existing (expand scope) and new clients for market expansion.
Conduct or assist in contract negotiations and tender preparations.
Regular reporting of sales and Marketing activities.
Reporting:
The holder of this position shall report to the Agricultural Business Manager.
Specific Responsibility:
- Responsible for all divisional operations and high degree of execution
- Responsible for building and maintaining a single, cohesive and motivated team, focused on client service & satisfaction, with a high level of collaboration between technical groups.
- Responsible for mentoring, developing, training & effectively utilizing all human resources
- Responsible for long & short term strategic development of business, marketing & operational
- Contribute ideas and support to global Agricultural Services structures within the Group
- Drive local market and services strategy
- Responsible for pricing policies in conjunction with business Manger
- Must have technical product knowledge, local; regional and global knowledge of market segments.
- Maintain contact with Global Agricultural Product Managers and Regional Management for Technical and Sales support, as well as proposal coordination.
- Main targets are to create profitability and sustainable growth
- Develop budgets for specific projects and new services
- Development and implement new sales tools
- Development and implementation of operational tools and guidelines
- Responsible for service level
- Liability protection (e.g. Correspondence, reports)
- Create and promote strategic initiatives
- Adhere to all quality and safety requirements of the company management system.
- Perform any other reasonable tasks as assigned by business manager.
- Ensure prompt debt collection and maintain target minimum DSO monthly.
Qualifications
Education
- Technical or equivalent qualification at degree or equivalent level in business administration, management or related disciplines.
- Basic finance
Experience
- Minimum 5 years management experience preferably in the agricultural industry in an international environment.
- Sound financial acumen.
- Business and profit minded with relevant technical knowhow.
- Competitive and profit driven; re-invents competitive advantage.

- Able to translate marketing strategy into pragmatic action and execute.
- Able to interact with management, suppliers and Client at all levels.
- Have the courage to act quickly and decisively; able to make tough calls.
