Curriculum Development Consultant
Purpose: To develop the national Kenya Mentor Mother Program (KMMP) curriculum package aligned to national standards and guidelines. This is a fixed term consultancy position.

Curriculum Development Consultant
Purpose: To develop the national Kenya Mentor Mother Program (KMMP) curriculum package aligned to national standards and guidelines. This is a fixed term consultancy position.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
- Lead the analysis, design and development of a competency-based curriculum package for training Mentor Mothers to deliver services in line with relevant national guidelines
- Develop and manage project,Work plan detailing key milestones and deliverables
- Design curriculum package blueprint including proposed learning objectives and outline of curriculum package including training of trainer’s materials, trainer materials, participant materials, presentation materials and training evaluation tools
- Facilitate a stakeholder’s forum to reach consensus on curriculum package blueprint
- Develop curriculum content against finalized curriculum blueprint
- Lead review of draft curriculum package with key stakeholders and finalize package based on feedback
Expected Deliverables:
- Project work plan with key milestones and deliverables
- Curriculum package blueprint
- Stakeholders’ forum summary report
- Draft curriculum package
- Final curriculum package
Qualifications and Experience Required:
- Minimum of a Masters degree in public health, instructional systems design, health education and/or a related field
- Demonstrated experience developing national curriculum, preferably in the Kenyan health sector
Competencies Required:
- Strong knowledge of instructional systems design and adult learning theory
- Experience with HIV and/or MNCH, peer education and behaviour change models in the African context
- Excellent verbal and written English language skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, while ensuring that project deliverables are on track according to the organization’s identified needs
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) with skills in desktop publishing, graphics software, GIS or other relevant software programmes an advantage
- Dynamism, creativity and flexibility
- Enthusiasm to work on behalf of m2m’s mother and infant clients
