Oxfam is a worldwide organization that works with over 1,000 partners in more than 70 countries to overcome poverty and suffering. Oxfam’s programme in Turkana has evolvedconsiderably and seeks to maximise impact through significant interlinked sectoral elements in livelihoods and food security
The role
In close liaison with the Programme Coordinator, successful incumbent will be responsible for the coherent and effective delivery of Oxfam’s programme work while ensuring that operational planning and effective implementation of the required standards in Turkana District are in line with the agreed strategy.
S/he will work closely with the programme team, local agencies and local government department officials in achieving programme goals.
To be successful, candidates should possess a minimum bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Social Sciences or related field coupled with proven practical experience in managing development and/or humanitarian projects and staff teams of at least 4 years.
Along with proven leadership and management skills, they should have the ability to manage and support team members. Experience in proposals development and donor report writing isrequired as is the ability to plan and monitor the use of human and financial resources
